Donegal has recorded the highest percentage of No votes in both the Family and Care referendums, with more than four out of five voters rejecting the proposals.

80.21% of voters in Donegal voted No in the Family referendum, with just 19.79% voting in favour - a margin of 29,512 votes.

While all but one constituency voted No, Donegal was one of a number to return No votes above 75%.

Just over 78% of voters in Cavan-Monaghan voted No, while 75.71% of voters in Laois-Offaly were against the proposal.

In Mayo, 75.55% of the electorate voted No.

Dún Laoghaire in south Dublin was the only constituency to vote Yes, with 50.29% in favour and 49.71% against - a margin of just 255 votes.

In a neighbouring Dublin constituency - Dublin Rathdown - the amendment was narrowly defeated by a margin of 371 votes where 50.6% voted Yes and 49.4% voted No.

In the second referendum, on Care, Donegal again lead the way with 83.97% of voters rejecting the proposal.

There was a similar trend to the Family referendum, with both Cavan-Monaghan (81.25%) and Laois-Offaly (80%) also surpassing the four-in-five threshold.

All 39 constituencies appear likely to reject the Care referendum.
